Rally in the Valley II turned out to be a huge success! No, it was bigger than that; we’d have to call it an astronomical success, a magnanimous success, a colossal success, big, huge, indescribably large!!! Ok, enough with the adjectives. It surpassed our expectations by quite a bit, and we were so pleased to be a part of this event that raised money for the Shady Valley, TN Volunteer Fire Department. The generosity of all of the riders was overwhelming, and we raised in excess of $2400. We can only guess at the number of attendees, but we think it was at least five hundred. We had great food, live music, cool door prizes, vendors, camaraderie, and of course hundreds of motorcycles to look at and admire. What else could anyone desire? Every segment of the motorcycling community was represented and everyone, no matter what his or her brand of choice, was welcome. We have to thank Carroll and Peggy Long for hosting and making this event possible, and all of the truly wonderful residents of Shady Valley who welcomed us into their community. BTW, the desserts were awesome, thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary Club! We even have to thank the Tennessee Highway Patrol for doing their job very professionally. We realize their presence was required, and we believe that helped all riders to be on their best behavior. They policed the valley and generally left everybody alone as long as riders were acting responsibly. Very few tickets were handed out.

It looks as if the Rally will continue next year and we hope to see everybody who was there for Rally 2003 again next year, as well as adding lots of new faces.

A Word About Safety: Unfortunately the sport of motorcycling can be dangerous. We urge you to take either the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Beginner Rider Course and/or Experienced Rider Course. Please, always wear full protective gear. Only you can be responsible for your personal safety; therefore, always ride defensively and ride within your abilities. Remember that crashes can happen at any time, often through no fault of your own. It’s best to be prepared and not need your gear, than to need it and not have it.
